The “mkIV” refers to 4th generation Metric Halo Analog and Converter technology. The key features of this new tech are:

• Warm, open, very detailed, musical sound (like the ULN-8, but even better)
• Integrated relay mute for analog outputs for thump/click free power up and down
• Fully calibrated analog I/O levels (round trips through the converters maintain level)
• Greatly reduced converter latency (around 18 samples rather than 116 samples)
• Greatly reduced power consumption and heat generation
